HKCTC’s trip for investigating Jiangmen’s creative industries

Hongkong Council for Creation& Technology(HKCTC) has organized a delegation for invesgating the creative industries in Jiangmen (locates in Guang Dong province,China) on 11th of Oct, 2011. As we all know, creative industries have been taken more and more seriously. Jiangmen is a city with great developing potential, whose government has invested to build an area for technology innovation like National Lab for Semiconductor Optoelectronic Detection.

During the trip, Danny cheung, Chairman of China Committee of HKCTC, and other creative experts shared their experience and negociated collaborations with Jiangmen Bureau of Foreign Trade& Economic Cooperation. As creative industries was flourishing in recently years, the value brought into the ranges of Chinese’s vision by creative industries had been concentrated on. Jiangmen Bureau of Foreign Trade& Economic Cooperation pay an importance attention on Jiangmen’s economy developing and realize that creative industries was tend to be the key of developing Jiangmen’s economy.

HKCTC is well-known with a professional and experienced group associated with creative industries. Danny,cheung. Jacob chan, Victor ma and several main members of HKCTC was invited by President Zhouwen of Jiangmen Bureau of Foreign Trade& Economic Cooperation to exchanging their opinions each other and advancing on promoting creative industries. Danny said “We expect that Jiangmen’s creative industries would be improved under the help of us through our experienced group.”

 

Briefing of Jiangmen:

Jiangmen, historically known as Kongmoon, Kongmun[1] or Kiangmoon, is a prefecture-level city in Guangdong province in southern China with a population of about 4.48 million in 2010. The 3 urban districts are now part of Guangzhou - Shenzhen built up area.

The chief industries in Jiangmen include manufacturing of motorcycles, household appliances, electronics, paper, food processing, synthetic fibers and garments, as well as textiles and stainless steel products. Some worldwide brand names have factories in Jiangmen including Haojue motorcycles, Jingling fan/washing machines, Vinda toilet paper, ABB Group and Lee Kum Kee foods.

Jiangmen is the homeland of 3.68 million overseas Chinese, who live in 107 countries and regions throughout the world. Strong oversea connections are especially found in the villages.
