German design is acclaimed for its functionality and efficiency in forms. Under the theme "Brand New Germany", sizable showcases of German design, lifestyle and creativity to fully represent the strength of German innovation and creativity. Themed exhibitions will include the international travelling exhibition "Design Deutschland 2011" and "German Design Loft" luxury brands exhibition curated by the world renowned architect Jürgen Mayer H., which takes places in Hong Kong for the first time. The German design service providers will also be present at the Expo to introduce their business solutions.

German Pavilion
Taking led by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, a joint companies stand from design sector and an information center will be staged to offer professional brokerage service to help establish contacts with German companies and comprehensive information on Germany as a business location.
Internationales Design Zentrum Berlin
Berlin is an excellent address for professional, multifaceted, and high quality design. At IDT Expo, the travelling exhibition "ID Berlin | Industrial Design Competence" will be f eatured, which aims at strengthening the perception of Berlin as a center for industrial design and innovative product development.

Danny Cheung, Chairman of China Committee from HKCTC visited the German Pavilion and discussed with the German Designers about the business collaboration in the future. And he also attended the seminar of Design in Germany * Development and Trends, which is presented by Mr. Andrej Kupetz, General Manager of German Design Council. In the talk with Mr. Danny Cheung, Mr. Andrej is very in the develpment of China market, especially in industry market, and he also hope that German Design Council could build up business matching with HKCTC in industrial design. Danny Cheung said that as a active association in creative industry in Hong Kong and mainland China, HKCTC now have some ongoing programs in creative industries by Chinese government, such as creative parks for arts, fashion design, graphic design, industrial design etc. We also would like to work with German Design Council to improve the industrial design in China and bring some great German industrial designers into China market.
